The biggest headache in daily shipping? Warehouse splitting. You ship one batch of goods, but the system splits it into multiple pieces. Shipping costs soar, and when you crunch the numbers, you feel like you're working for nothing. When peak season arrives and sales take off, inventory frequently runs low. Your goods have been dispatched but get stuck at the inbound stage. Watching traffic and orders come in while your products queue up at the warehouse gate – that sense of helplessness is something every cross-border seller understands.

Good news!
Amazon SEND has received a major upgrade
The "Preferred Warehouse" function officially launches today, March 30!

As one of Amazon SEND's official carriers, Amass will leverage this upgrade to deliver a more cost-effective, faster, and more stable head-haul logistics experience for Amazon sellers in China.

01 What is Amazon SEND Preferred Warehouse?

What is Amazon SEND?

Amazon SEND is a one-stop head-haul service offered by Amazon's selected carriers. Through this program, Amazon-vetted logistics partners ship sellers' inbound inventory from China to Amazon fulfillment centers in destination countries. It provides four core benefits: stable fulfillment, priority inbounding, simplified operations, and competitive pricing.

What is the Preferred Warehouse function?

The newly launched SEND Preferred Warehouse function represents a significant upgrade to the SEND service. Its core logic is simple: Amazon SEND pre-reserves strategic preferred FBA fulfillment center locations across five major regions in the United States. Carriers consolidate sellers' SEND shipments into these locked-in warehouse locations, resulting in substantially reduced shipping costs and significantly improved inbound efficiency.

02 Save Up to 15% on Shipping Costs

Cost control is critical to profitability in cross-border business, and logistics costs often account for a significant portion of operating expenses. How does the SEND Preferred Warehouse function help sellers save up to 15% on shipping costs? The key lies in two words: consolidation efficiency.

  1. Economies of Scale, Lower Costs from the Source
SEND carriers can consolidate shipment volumes and deliver them to locked-in FBA warehouse locations, rather than dispersing shipments across multiple warehouses as before. This centralized delivery model maximizes the utilization of last-mile trucking capacity, reduces transportation resource waste, and provides faster, more cost-effective bulk shipping rates – lowering unit shipping costs from the source.
  2. Route Optimization, Maximized Capacity
Optimized fixed transport routes improve the utilization of shipping containers and other transport capacity, effectively reducing the shipping cost per unit. For less-than-container load (LCL)海运, fixed routes mean faster consolidation and earlier departures.
  3. Efficiency Gains, Cost Dilution
The centralized delivery model significantly reduces SEND carriers' operating costs and improves delivery efficiency, allowing them to optimize capacity and further dilute transportation costs. The savings are ultimately reflected in the shipping rates offered to sellers.
  4. Efficient Reinvestment of Capital
The logistics costs saved through lower shipping rates and faster delivery can be quickly reinvested into product selection expansion, marketing, and promotion, accelerating business growth and reducing the risk of stockouts.

03 Does It Make Operations More Complicated?

Not at all.

This is the most "considerate" aspect of the upgrade – the intelligent integration and optimization of SEND Preferred Warehouse runs entirely in the background. Sellers don't need to perform any additional complex operations or settings.

Specifically:

  • National distribution network coverage remains unchanged: After your goods are received, they will still be distributed across Amazon's nationwide fulfillment center network to ensure fast delivery to consumers.
  • Inbound configuration options remain unchanged: You still have two configuration choices to suit different operational strategies: "Minimize shipment splits, single-point inbound" and "Amazon-optimized, 5-point inbound."
  • Booking process remains completely unchanged: Simply select Amazon SEND and complete your shipment creation as usual.

In other words, you just ship the way you always have, and the "Preferred Warehouse" takes care of the rest.

04 Effective March 30 – Zero Operational Barriers

The Amazon SEND Preferred Warehouse function will take effect for all SEND shipments (standard items) on March 30, 2026.

There are no additional steps in the ordering process. You simply need to:

  1. Create Shipment – The process is the same as before. Select the products and quantities you want to send.
  2. Select Amazon SEND – Choose Amazon SEND as your shipping plan in the delivery mode and select the shipping method (sea or air freight).
  3. Select Configuration Option – You can still choose "Single-point inbound" or "Multi-point inbound" based on your operational strategy.
    • Single-point inbound: Send all your inventory through one shipment to a single strategic location. You can select your preferred region: East, West, or Central.
    • Multi-point inbound: Amazon splits your shipment into five shipments to optimize inventory placement across the network, without incurring FBA inbound placement service fees.
  4. Confirm and Ship – After completing the booking, send your shipment to the designated FBA warehouse.

Once you complete this step, your shipments will be automatically routed to the SEND Preferred Warehouse locations upon inbounding to FBA warehouses, starting your "worry-free journey."

05 Improved Timeliness and Stability

In cross-border logistics, warehouse splitting and complex transit processes often lead to inbound delays, impacting inventory availability timeliness and potentially causing missed sales peaks.

SEND Preferred Warehouse enhances timeliness and stability in two dimensions by simplifying the inbound path:

  • Batch Processing, Reduced Waiting Time: Consolidated volumes allow containers to be loaded and shipped faster, reducing waiting time at the origin port.
  • More Precise Planning: A more stable and predictable transit timeline allows sellers to plan inventory replenishment cycles more accurately and confidently handle sales peaks.

For experienced carriers like Amass, the centralized delivery model further leverages their strengths in routes, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery, ensuring timeliness that is both stable and reliable.

Amass – Empowering Efficient Logistics for Global Expansion

Competition in peak season begins with every step of inventory preparation.

Logistics is never simply about "sending goods out." It is a key variable affecting cash flow efficiency, inventory health, and even sales rhythm.

The launch of Amazon SEND Preferred Warehouse is essentially about helping sellers achieve greater certainty at a lower cost.

On March 30, the Preferred Warehouse function will go live.
